DENTAL PROCEDURES |
One of your greatest personal assets is your smile and along with a healthy mouth, they help you live longer.
|
| Strong, healthy teeth are an important factor to your health
and quality of life. A phone survey of 1,000 adults found
that 90% of the respondents believe an attractive smile
is an asset to one's career and 58% said they were more
likely to trust someone with an attractive smile. |

Another study performed by the Mayo Clinic found that patients who keep their natural teeth actually live longer!
Viable dental biocompatibility has been at the heart of our
practice for 20 years.
|
Our practice is "amalgam free" or "mercury free" due to concern about toxicity problems from mercury amalgam dental fillings. Mercury amalgam removal and replacement with natural-looking biocompatible materials (i.e. bonded porcelain) is a specialty of our practice.

Holistic dentistry is an approach to dental treatment which cares for patients' health and safety both from a conventional as well as an "alternative healthcare" point of view. In holistic dentistry, efforts are made to find biocompatible dental materials for patient treatments to reduce possible toxic overload and allergic reactions, especially for those who are sensitive to chemicals.
We provide our patients with exceptional cosmetic results along with our holistic approach to dentistry, which includes State-of-the-Art Dental technology.
In addition to re-care examinations that utilize manual probing and visual inspection to look for decay, we've invested in Diagnodent a laser that allows us to diagnose dental decay in its earliest stage. In some cases it is possible to use the Air Abrasion system without anesthetic or drill-less dentistry to remove dental decay. Air Abrasion can be used effectively to repair cracks, discolorations, and prepare tooth surfaces for bonding procedures.
Our practice is "mercury amalgam free" and we utilize State-of-the-Art technology and techniques in our dental restorations.
Composite resin dental fillings (aka white fillings) are an alternative to traditional mercury amalgam fillings, and can be coloured to match the patient's tooth. All composite resins are chemically bonded into place, and can be used for cosmetic improvements of the smile by changing the colour of the teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth.
It is interesting to note that, on average, less tooth removal is required for composite resin fillings as compared to traditional mercury amalgam fillings, and a bonded filling can actually strengthen the tooth.
CEREC technology allows us to create crowns in a SINGLE VISIT!
Using the CEREC System to create dental restorations allows us to be extremely precise so that we can do the work in a single appointment. Furthermore, CEREC dental restorations strengthen teeth by saving more of the healthy part of the tooth and removing only the damaged portions.
Dr. Wolch has ten years of experience using CEREC technology.
Dr. Wolch uses the CEREC System to create onlays, inlays and crowns because no metal is placed in the mouth with this dental procedure. Studies show that a tooth restored by the CEREC system has 103% to 115% of the strength of a "virgin" tooth! Furthermore, bonded porcelain/ceramic restorations can be matched to the exact colour of the other teeth, providing an exceptional cosmetic result.
The CEREC System can be used to replace missing teeth with Bridges that are made from non-metal products, and we also offer a full service Denture Clinic
Dental Implants are also used to replace one or more missing teeth, or to stabilize dentures.
The implant acts like the root of a natural tooth, and bone actually forms around a special coating on the implant to hold the implant firmly in place. In cases where there are multiple missing teeth, or where the patient has previously had dentures, multiple implants are placed in the mouth to allow for implant-supported dental restorations. |
